Faithfully Serving in the Philippines For
MISSION
Timothy Project's mission is to provide hope and support to some of the poorest and most marginalized children, empowering them toward a brighter future.
VISION
To see every child who has experienced trauma restored, nurtured, and empowered through Christ-centered care, equipped to heal, grow, and lead lives of hope, purpose, and transformation.
WHERE WE SERVE
Timothy Project has gradually expanded since 2017 and now serves children from three permanent locations, reflecting our ongoing commitment to their well-being and future.
Established in 2017, the LIGHTHOUSE Home for Kids provides refuge and care for children who are unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused. Through the years, more than 50 children have been reintegrated or adopted, many of whom might not have survived without the care and loving support they received in the Lighthouse.
Established in 2025, the BUTTERFLY HOME serves as a safe haven for girls rescued from sexual abuse. Currently, 46 girls, ranging in age from 6 to 25, are receiving comprehensive care, support, education, and the opportunity to grow toward a future filled with dignity, hope, and renewal.
Since 2019, Timothy Project has been providing daily meals and safe housing to children in the Atea Tribe, enabling them to attend elementary school, many of whom would otherwise have no access to education. Without these daily meals, many children would be forced to learn on an empty stomach, making it difficult for them to reach their full potential.
Our Leaders
Andy and Doreen Zuberbuehler are the founders of Timothy Project International Mission, where Andy (left) serves as Executive Director and Doreen (middle) serves as Chairman of the Board. Each has been faithfully serving their respective role since 2017. Since 2007, they have been living in the Philippines with their three children.
Andy and Doreen Zuberbuehler each completed two mission trips to the Philippines in their youth, including others to Mongolia. They both felt a calling to stay long term, so in 2007, with one daughter age 3 and one son age 1 in tow, they packed up their lives and moved their whole life across the sea. For the first 10 years, they worked with various organizations where they gained hands-on experience in working with orphanages, street children, livelihood projects, indigenous tribes, and in disaster relief programs. In 2017, they were made aware of children in need of a home over 1,2oo kilomitor away. To respond to the need, they founded Timothy Project and established the Lighthouse to take care of abandoned and abused babies. Timothy Project has now grown into something which neither of them could have even dreamed of as they continue to faithfully serve the Lord.
Through the Years
Timothy Project began operations in 2017 through the Lighthouse, our first home for kids. In 2019, a tribal school was added, in 2020, 5 learning centers were founded, in 2023, construction on a brand new building began for the Lighthouse. In 2025, the Butterfly Home was added to provide a home to sexually exploited girls. Today, we provide care to over 120 children on a daily basis.
